NBHS Year 10 beat NBHS Year 9: 6-1
SUPER 8 TENNIS
First match was against Tauranga. We lost 4-2 with Roman Walewski winning 7/6, 0/6 and 7/6 and Luke Winter winning 6/2 and 6/2.
Second match was against New Plymouth with Roman winning again 6/1, 6/2 and Luke 6/2 and 6/1. The doubles combination of Roman and Luke won 6/4 and 6/3. Match scores were 3-3 but NBHS won on count back of games.
Third match (semi-final) was against Hamilton and Roman won again 6/2 and 6/1 and doubles combination of Dan Rowe and Max Clifford won 10/6 in a super tie break.
3rd – 4th playoff was against Palmerston North and Roman won 7/6 and 6/1 and Dan won 6/7, 6/2 and 6/4. Dan combined with Max to win the doubles again in a super tire break. We drew 3-3 but lost on set count back. Overall a great effort and some exceptional tennis was played.
A special mention goes to Roman who won all 4 of his single matches. Also Luke Winter won 2 of his single matches and was the only year 9 student competing against much older components. Dan Rowe also won 2 doubles and one singles match
SUPER 8 VOLLEYBALL
No expectations, using it for game time experience and team continuity.
Day 1 – Tough day, we had duty – game – game – duty. Played NPBHS won 3-0 then played TBC lost 3-0 by clinical performance.
Day 2 – GBHS B won 3-1 bit made very hard work of it. Lacked drive and motivation.
Finished 2nd in Pool A. Making top 4 was the key team goal. Played semi-final against HBHS our 4th game of the season together. Won 3-1 demonstrating periods of brilliance in patches. Need to develop more consistent passing.
Day 3 – Final playing Tauranga Boys College, we Lost 3-1
Raine Horton and Sean Monoghan were also selected for the Tournament Team

Played St Johns 1st XI, won by 225 runs.

NBHS scored 145, Lachlan Christian 30, Pirates scored 146 for 2

253, Brad Bosher 106 runs, Finn Diphoorn picked up 4 wickets, Bowled Hastings out for 126

T20 CRICKET
NBHS White won (123) vs. NBHS green – Bowled them out for 105
NBHS Scinde White scored 175 vs. Junior Blue scored 104 (Angus Wright 112 runs)
ROWING
An overall good result for rowing, developing towards the National Secondary Schools event in two weeks. Although there were no medals, the Under 17 Double sculls and Under 17 Coxed Quadruple Sculls (with big fields of 26 and 27) are in the top 8 of North Island crews with 6th and 7th placings (Joe Lawson, William Thomas, Jack Spencer, Matt Halford, Harry Lawson).
The Under 18 Novice Coxed Four in a field of 21, came in 6th in a B Final, putting them in the top 16 of North Island crews. (Oscar Bright, Evan Argent, Toby Cook, Connor Molloy, Dylan Stringer).
CANOE POLO
Junior A won HBSS competition at Frimley Pool Yesterday Senior A runners up HBSS competition as above. Qualified for Division 1 for nationals
SEVENS
U15 Rugby 7’s – Runners up to PNBHS in the final of the Sir Gordon Tietjens tournament in Palmerston North Senior Rugby 7’s – not placed.
