Friday 13 September

An email will be sent to the caregiver/s, using the address provided in the online application, offering a place to students who have entry to Napier Boys’ High School. If a ballot has been applied, unsuccessful applicants will be notified at this time, alongside an indication of their place on the waiting list.

Friday 27 September

Students who receive an Offer of Place must accept the position before 3pm, Friday 27 September 2024. This can be via email nbhs@nbhs.school.nz or by phoning the school office 06 8335900. If the school does not receive an acceptance of the Offer of Place, it will be determined as non-acceptance, forfeiting the placement. Subsequently, the placement will be offered to another student.

In order to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the board of Napier Boys’ High School has adopted an enrolment scheme which has been approved by the Ministry of Education.

Parents should be aware that:

  1. Approximately half of all of the year nine students who will attend in 2025 will come from outside the in zone. Therefore parents of students who live outside the prescribed zone have a genuine opportunity to enrol their sons at the school.
  2. Brothers of current and past students have high priority in the scheme after those who reside in the Home Zone.
  3. The enrolment of out of zone enrolments is governed by the Education Act 1989.

This enrolment scheme also applies to students enrolling in years ten to thirteen. Parents should contact Mr Russell who will advise them of the availability of ‘out of zone’ placements.’

    • The Enrolment Scheme applies to students enrolling in Y10 – 13. For Y10 – 13 enrolments, please contact Mr D Russell drussell@nbhs.school.nz

Enquiries regarding enrolments should be directed to the Napier Boys High School on nbhs@nbhs.school.nz or phone 06 833 5900
