Year 10 ‘Good Man Award’ Programme

All Y10 students are included in the ‘Good Man Award’ programme. The programme encourages our Y10s to recognise and reflect the values of the school, including participation across the school and community.

Community service is a significant aspect of the programme. Every Y10 core class participates in a community service project, supported by the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. 10LI will undertake community service on Monday, 24 May, 1:10 – 3:10pm. Permission slips have been sent home with the boys. The teacher responsible is Mrs K Taylor, Senior Master, ktaylor@nbhs.school.nz

NGHS Prefects Assembly

The Prefects head to Napier Girls’ High School on Monday, 24 May for their assembly. This follows our pōwhiri in Term 1 for the Napier Girls’ Prefects and Senior Management.

Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) Immunisation Programme

The MMR vaccine will be administered onsite on Monday, 24 May. This is a Ministry of Health initiative. Further information is available here: https://www.healthed.govt.nz/resource/mmr-vaccine-consent-form-english-version

Career Expo

The Napier Boys’ High School Career Expo is on Tuesday, 25 May, 6:00 – 7:30pm. The Career Expo is held at Pettigrew Green Arena. We remain very fortunate to have our own career expo. The expo gives the opportunity for you and your son to chat with numerous providers, institutions and industry reps. This highly informative event is open to all Napier Boys’ High School students and their families.

Junior Exam Preparation 

English, Maths, Science and Social Studies exams will be held for Junior students at the end of week 7 (Thursday 17 – Friday 18 June). Exams will be 2 hours long. An information evening was held in the Memorial library last Tuesday and we have linked to the presentation below if you were unable to attend.

A reminder that parents / caregivers can access results and historical reports through the KAMAR Parent Portal. Log-in details were posted by mail at the start of the school year. Super 8 Schools Cross Country

Our cross country teams – Y9, U16, and Senior – head to Palmerston North on Monday, 24 May to compete in the Super 8 Schools event.

St Patrick’s College, Silverstream exchange

Ahead of the Scots College exchange the 1st XI football and Senior A basketball teams play their counterparts from St Patrick’s College, Silverstream on Tuesday, 25 May. This is an away fixture.

Scots College exchange

The Scots College exchange (away) is on Wednesday, 26 May. This involves the 1st XI football, 1st XI hockey, Senior A basketball, and 1st XV rugby.
