Level 3 Hospitality Café

In addition to the Wednesday morning barista coffee being produced by our hospitality students, the Level 3 Hospitality Café runs on Friday, 11 June. Highly anticipated by the staff the hospitality café is an opportunity for our 18 Level 3 Hospitality students to showcase their talents. The students must demonstrate a multitude of techniques and skills preparing a two-course menu. The buttermilk fried chicken burger appears an early staff favourite.

The Great Plate Debate

The senior debating team takes part in the Great Plate Debate on Wednesday, 09 June. This is an annual event, funded by Rotary, between NBHS and NGHS. The debate carries a significant prize, with $2000.00 donated to the winning team’s school library for textbooks or technology. We are the current holders of the Kauri Plate. The debate is hosted at the Taradale Club and begins at 7 pm.

Communication & Contact Details

It is critical that parents / caregivers notify the school of changes to their contact details. Changes should be updated with the school office by emailing Mrs J Gourdie jgourdie@nbhs.school.nz It is important that the email address you provide is an account that you check daily.

Junior Exams

The Junior exams are in Week 7 & 8. We see these exams as an important learning opportunity for the Y9 & Y10s. Developing skills related to exam preparation, time management and applying themselves across a sustained period are fundamental steps toward success in the Senior School, or with NCEA.

An exam preparation and study presentation was held in Week 3. You can view the presentation here: Link to Presentation
