NCEA Accord Teacher-Only Day

The first NCEA Accord teacher-only day for 2022 will run Monday, 16 May. School will be closed on this day.

NZ Super 8 Schools Cultural Festival

We host the NZ Super 8 Schools Cultural Festival, Friday 20 – Saturday 21 May. This is a fantastic opportunity and event for our boys and the wider Super 8 Schools Group. The festival includes:

  • Art – Junior & Senior
  • Debating – Junior & Senior
  • Drama
  • Kapa Haka
  • Pasifika
  • Music Solo – Junior & Senior
  • Music Group
  • Oratory – Junior & Senior
  • Theatre Sports – Junior & Senior
  • Chess

The school will finish at 1:10 pm. This allows for us to pōwhiri the manuhiri onto the school and for them to set up. All buses, including Bayview, will leave at 1:20 pm.

Our 150th Jubilee is fast approaching!

Ticket sales close Sunday, 15 May. This is the last chance to register.

NCEA Me Te Whānau Online Workshop

We are excited to be hosting an NCEA me te whānau workshop for our community. The workshop is delivered by an NZQA Kaihāpai and aims to break down the NCEA system and explain how you can support your tamaiti at school. The workshop is onsite, Tuesday, 24 May.

Y9 Option Change Over

Y9s change options on Tuesday, 17 May. The boys have received information about the new option’s stationery requirements. Similarly, they have received a paper-copy of their timetable. A digital update will be available through the MyMahi app.

L1 Geography Trip

The L1 Geography classes are offsite Wednesday, 18 May visiting Villa Maria Winery. This is part of their AS1.3 assessment, considering how commercial organisations implement sustainable practice.

L3 Agriculture Trip

The L3 Agriculture class visits Cabbage Tree Flat Station on Friday, 20 May. The visit is to showcase lamb production for a niche market.

Shearing Course

Twelve young men, Y11 and Y12, are completing a shearing course through Elite Shearing. This runs Sunday 15 – Wednesday 18 May.
