Pasifika Group

Talofa lava. In celebration of Samoan Language week, the Pasifika boys will be performing at EIT on Monday, 30 May. The group then tour the campus with Pacific Student Support Coordinator, Sharon Malaitai.

Teacher-only Day – advance notice

Following the 150th Jubilee, the school will be closed on Tuesday, 07 June. Through part of this day, the teaching staff will be spending time learning about our rohe and incorporating local contexts for learning, ahead of changes to the national curriculum.

150th Jubilee – Polson Banner

A cornerstone in the heritage of our school, the Polson Banner match has been moved to coincide with the 150th Jubilee. Both the 2nd and 1st XV fixtures will be played on Saturday, 04 June.

We are anticipating large crowds. Additional seating will be available on the Willis Legal Grandstand.

May Progress Report

The May progress report will be emailed early Week 5 to parents / caregivers. This report offers an overview of your son’s achievement and effort. For Y9s the report shows information for their first trimester option class. Please make the time to talk through this report with your son, acknowledging the positives, work-ons and setting goals to collectively work toward.

L2 Biology Trip

The Y12 Biology classes are offsite Monday, 30 May visiting Harding Road rocky shore and National Aquarium. At the rocky shore the group learns sampling techniques that biologists use to identify and record the abundance of species found from low to high tide along a rocky shore. At the National Aquarium the learning focus is around the diversity of animal gas exchange systems and a dissection of a fish, specifically at the structures fish use to carry out gas exchange in an aquatic environment. This field trip is part of internal AS 2.3.

 Y13 Agriculture Trip

The Y13 Agriculture class are out on Wednesday, 01 June visiting Aitkins Ranch, Cabbage Tree Flats with a focus on lamb production.

 Y10 Art Trip

The Y10 Art classes are out on Wednesday, 01 June visiting the National Aquarium. This is a cross-curricular project blending Science and Art concepts.

On the back of a successful exchange with Scots College, a selection of teams head to Masterton on Tuesday, 31 May for a traditional exchange with Wairarapa College.

The exchange involves the 1st XI Hockey, Senior A Basketball, 1st XI Football and 2nd XV Rugby.
