MyMahi App
Hopefully, your son has shown you the MyMahi app. We have been using this during tutor class through Term 2.
MyMahi is a dashboard where learners log-in to check their credits, timetable and daily student notices. Alongside information related to wellbeing and pathways. The app includes a section where students have entered their learning goals. They are expected to revisit and review these through the year.
If your son does not have MyMahi installed, he should! Refer below for instructions:
Students log in by searching “Mymahi” on their devices and log in with Microsoft using their school email and password.
Literacy & Numeracy Common Assessment
NCEA Literacy and Numeracy Common Assessment Tasks will take place in Week 8, as per Monday 12 June – Literacy / Reading, Tuesday 13 June – Numeracy and Wednesday 14 June – Literacy / Writing. The assessments will take place during Period 1 and 2. Students should be prepared for normal lessons Periods 3, 4 and 5. Each assessment is two hours in length. These assessments act as a co-requisite for NCEA Level 1 where students must achieve Literacy and Numeracy to achieve Level 1 overall.
All Common Assessment Activities – literacy and numeracy – are completed online. Students are encouraged to bring their own device for this assessment. If your son would like to use his own device, we would like him to bring it in to school during Week 7 (Wednesday 7- Friday 9 June) so we can ensure that the device meets the requirements to complete the assessment. If your son does not have their own device, a school laptop will be provided.
Further information on these tasks can be found on the NCEA website: https://ncea.education.govt.nz/ncea-literacy-and-numeracy-students-and-whanau
