Y9 Ladder to Manhood

Part of the Y9 orientation, the Ladder to Manhood programme begins Thursday 29 February. This involves all Y9s. The programme includes team-building activities, haka and thinking about what it means to be a ‘good man’. We will walk from school to Pukemokimoki Marae and return at the end of the day. We provide a sausage sizzle for lunch. Please ensure your Y9 son wears their PE gear and has a hat, preferably a school hat. They will need to bring a snack, water bottle, sunscreen and an alternate lunch if required.

Goal Setting Conference – Advance Notice

Goal Setting Conferences will run on Thursday 14 & Friday 15 March. This involves a three-way conference with the tutor teacher, student and parent/caregiver. Each conference is allocated a 15-minute time slot. At this time regular timetabled classes are not running.

Ahead of the conferences, the first Progress Report will be emailed home in Week 6. The report offers an overview of your son’s achievement and effort.

More details, including information related to booking, will be made available in the coming weeks.

Golden Shears Championships

Four students are competing at the world’s premier shearing and wool-handing competition. We have two boys entered for the novice shearing and two competing for the junior shearing title in Masterton, starting Thursday 29 February.
