Careers

Representatives from STUDYLINK are onsite Tuesday 22 October, presenting at 1:10pm in the Memorial Library. Their presentation is for Y13s that have applied for tertiary study. The focus is accessing student loans and allowances. If your son is considering applying for a student allowance or loan they should complete the eligibility test. This requires a Real Me account.

Senior NCEA Results Summary

In Week 2 a summary of NCEA internal results, external entries and recent school benchmark examination results will be emailed to parents / caregivers. Ahead of the external examinations, please take time to review this summary with your son, reflecting on the positives and work-ons.

Final Senior Reports will be emailed to parents / caregivers at the end of Week 5.

Senior Study Leave & NCEA Examinations

Ahead of the external NCEA examinations, the senior students commence their study leave on Friday, 01 November. Seniors that have clearance have a staggered release from Period 3. Y13s are released at the end of Period 3, Y12s at the end of Period 4 and Y11s at lunchtime. It is critical that your son attends this day. Essential information, including checking external entries, is confirmed at this time.

Study leave does not mean that support from subject teachers stops. Your son should liaise with his subject teacher regarding tutorials and support through the study leave period. This can be done via MS Teams or by email.

The NCEA examinations commence Tuesday 05 and finish Friday 29 November. The NCEA examinations are onsite, administered by NZQA contracted staff. Most examinations are in the Henderson Hall.

The National Secondary Examination Timetable can be accessed here.

Year 10 NCEA Information Night

The school is hosting an NCEA information presentation for parents and whānau of Year 10 students. This will be held in the school’ Memorial Library on Wednesday 23 October, starting at 7:00pm.

This information night will allow you to ask questions about the recent changes, how this may affect your son’s academic outcomes and how this could affect his course planning for 2025.

Information regarding this evening has been sent to all Year 10 parents via SchoolBridge.
