17 August 2021

Dear Parents & Caregivers
As per the Prime Minister’s announcement we move into Alert Level 4 from 11.59
pm Tuesday, 17 August. Schools will be closed for onsite learning through this
three-day lockdown period.

We hope that you all stay safe in your respective bubbles. If the need arises, the
support team for our boys is available. Our school counsellors, Rob Silver and
Tracy Courtney, can be contacted on 021 1094820 or by email
wellbeing@nbhs.school.nz Also, this is a reminder to all members of our
community that you can call 1737, if you need to talk.

Staff will be putting activities and tasks on the student learning platform, Microsoft
TEAMS. We anticipate this will be done before midday Wednesday, 18 August.
Year 9 and 10 option classes will not have work set at this stage. We expect that
the boys, where possible, will access their TEAMS account tomorrow, and start
working on the material that teachers have set. If for any reason your son cannot
access the work, he should email his teacher directly.

Please let your son know that the work is only set for three days, and he should
work steadily through this. If he has any questions he can message his teachers
via TEAMS, or by email. For seniors some of this work will be essential for either
internal or external assessment. We appreciate your support in ensuring your son
remains engaged and connected with his learning.

Personally, I thank you for your willingness to take on the challenges presented
again by online learning at a time when our thoughts and concerns naturally turn
to our own safety and that of our family and friends.
