Headmaster’s Pōwhiri
The school will formally welcome our fourteenth Headmaster, Mr Jarred Williams, on Monday, 26 July.
We invite whānau and old boys to support the school through their attendance.
The pōwhiri begins at 10:30 am.
Year 9 Enrolment, 2022
Enrolment packs for 2022 Year 9 enrolment will be available at all contributing schools from Friday, 30 July.
Our information evening will be Tuesday, 24 August. Y8 students and their families wanting a personal tour can arrange this by contacting Mrs White, Headmaster’s PA, HeadmastersPA@nbhs.school.nz or ph. 8335913.

Communication & Contact Details
Through Week 1 we will be asking the students to check their contact details. It is critical that parents / caregivers notify the school of changes to their contact details – physical address, email and phone. Changes should be updated with the school office by emailing Mrs J Gourdie jgourdie@nbhs.school.nz
In the case of an emergency or for urgent updates we may use a text messaging / SMS service. Increasingly we use the School App to push out updates. This is useful for parents / caregivers and students. Download ‘SchoolAppsNZ’ and select Napier Boys’ High School.

School Production
Napier Boys’ and Girls’ combine once more to bring you a musical treat: Back to the 80s… the Totally Awesome Musical! Performances will be in the Napier Boys’ High Henderson Hall on the evenings of Wed 4th, Thurs 5th, and Friday 6th August with a final Matinee performance on Saturday 7th August. Inspired by and featuring hits from the 1980s, this show is great family entertainment. Tickets will be available to purchase from Term 3, Week 1 from both schools. Please note the school offices are closed in the School Holidays.

Super 8 Schools Rugby – Moascar Cup
The 1st & 2nd XV travel to Rotorua Boys’ High School for their Super 8 School fixture on Saturday, 10 July. Rotorua Boys’ High School will be putting-up the Moascar Cup. Dating back to World War One, the Cup is the most prestigious trophy in New Zealand schoolboy rugby.

The 1st XV game will be broadcast live on Sky Sport 1 from 12:00pm.
Sideline.Live
Sideline.Live has been streaming Super 8 Schools rugby for several years. They have expanded their coverage to include the Super 8 Schools tournaments for other codes. This year they will be streaming hockey, basketball and football. This is a subscription service.

New Zealand Swimming Championship
We have a small group of elite swimmers heading to the national championship with Mrs Wills. The event is on the North Shore, 22 – 26 July.
Orienteering NZSS Championship
The orienteering team will compete in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship over the school holidays. The event is being held in Hawke’s Bay and runs 23 – 25 July.
Feilding High School Rugby Exchange
On Sunday, 25 July the school hosts rugby teams from Feilding High School. The U14 & U15 teams play at 11:30 am. The 1st & 2nd XV fixtures have a 1:00 pm kick-off. All matches are played at school.
Snow Sports
Twenty-two students, skiers and snowboarders, are heading to Tūroa, 26 – 27 July. Mr Callaghan and Mr Jones are travelling with the group.
