Week 10 – Junior Timetable

We have amended the junior timetable for Week 10. This is to accommodate senior benchmark examinations. Through Week 10 we will run a 2 – 1 – 2 school day. Namely, two periods after lunch.

The start of day remains the same, 8:30am. However, afternoon classes will finish at 3:00pm. Buses will depart school at 3:15pm.

Uniform Shop & Hire

The Uniform Shop will open during the school holiday, Friday 11 October from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Second-hand items will be available from the shop on this day.

All rugby / hire blazers need to be returned to the school office, immediately. Basketball / hire blazers need to be returned Week 1, Term 4.

Health Notice – Whooping Cough (Pertussis) in Hawke’s Bay

We have been asked by Health NZ to share that they have reported a significant increase in whooping cough in Hawke’s Bay. Whooping cough causes breathing difficulties and severe coughing fits. Immunisation provides the best protection against whooping cough; this includes adults who have booster vaccination/s at 45yo and 65yo. More information can be found here.

End of Term 3

Friday 27 September is the end of Term 3. School will finish at 3:00pm. Buses will depart at 3:15pm.

Term 4 starts Monday, 14 October. This is Day 5 on the school calendar.

 

School Benchmark Senior Examinations

A reminder that the school benchmark senior examinations are in Week 10.

Morning examinations start at 8:40am. Afternoon examinations are now starting at 1:00pm. This year the examinations will be in the Henderson Hall. Students must arrive at the Hall at least ten minutes before the start of their exam. For digital examinations student must bring their device charged.

September Progress Report

The September Progress Report will be emailed to parents / caregivers in Week 10. This report offers an overview of your son’s achievement and effort. Please make the time to talk through this report with your son, acknowledging the positives, work-ons and setting goals to collectively work toward through Term 4. Any queries or concerns can be directed to the related subject teacher or your son’s tutor. Staff contact details are available here.

Level 1 Externally Assessed Standards

In numerous Level 1 courses, students are completing external assessments. These assessments are completed in class and then sent to NZQA for marking. Students will be able to access their results in January 2025.

Students have been reminded that these assessments are treated like all NZQA externally assessed / monitored assessments. Students who breach the conditions of these assessments should expect a Not Achieved grade.
