Napier Boys High School Week Ahead

Week Ahead: Week 5, Term 2

Y9-10 Junior Social

We will host a Y9-10 Junior Social on Wednesday, 02 June, 7:00 – 9:00 pm in Henderson Hall. The Junior Social is with students from Napier Girls’ High School. Monday, 31 May is the final day for ticket sales. Tickets are $10. Following the social, your son can be collected from the school quad.

Y10 Agriculture Fieldtrip

The Y10 Agriculture classes are offsite on Wednesday, 02 June. The group will attend the National Horticultural Field Days at the Tomoana Showgrounds. The teacher in charge is Mr. R Newman rnewman@nbhs.school.nz

L3 Biology Fieldtrip

The Y13 Biology class is offsite Period 3 -5 on Thursday, 03 June. The group visits Hardinge Road’s rocky shore and then moves onto the National Aquarium. The teacher in charge is Mr. M Hardy mhardy@nbhs.school.nz

Teacher-only Day

School is closed Friday, 04 June. This is a teacher-only day. A reminder, too, that Monday, 07 June is Queen’s Birthday.

Junior Exams

The Junior exams are in Week 7 & 8. We see these exams as an important learning opportunity for the Y9 & Y10s. Developing skills related to exam preparation, time management, and applying themselves across a sustained period are fundamental steps toward success in the Senior School, or with NCEA.

KAMAR Parent Portal

A reminder that parents/caregivers can access results and historical reports through the KAMAR Parent Portal. Log-in details were posted by mail at the start of the school year. Big Sing

Napier Boys’ High School Choir will be participating in the Big Sing Regional Festival held at ToiToi Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre, Hastings on Wednesday the 2 June.

 

Wairarapa College Exchange

We host Wairarapa College on Tuesday, 01 and Wednesday, 02 June. This exchange involves the 1st XI football, 1st XI hockey, Senior A basketball, and 2nd XV rugby.

Billets are always needed for these exchanges to go ahead please contact Kirsty our sports Co-Ordinator on 06 833 5990 ext 223 if you can assist.

Tuesday, 01 June: Senior A Basketball play at 6:30 pm in the school gym.

Wednesday, 02 June: 1st XI football and 2nd XV rugby play at school. The 1st XI hockey play at Park Island. All games begin at 10:30 am.
