Napier Boys High School Week Ahead

Week Ahead: Week 6 Term 4

Monday 13th November – Sunday 19th November

Accord Teacher-only Day

The final teacher-only day in support of the NCEA Change Programme is Friday, 17 November. The school is closed on this day.

Monday, 20 November will be Day 1 on the school timetable.

NCEA Examinations – Reminder

The NCEA examinations continue in Week 6, finishing Thursday 30 November. The 2023 National Secondary Examination Timetable can be found here.

Please support us to ensure that your son arrives at C Block, the exam centre, prepared. They require their writing equipment in a transparent plastic bag, their admission slip and if required water in a ‘clear’ drink bottle.

Admission slips can be reprinted. Your son will need to reprint this from their NZQA account. This can be accessed here. Your son will require their NSN number to access his NZQA account. If your son cannot access their account, they must report to C4 30 minutes before their scheduled examination.

Students are reminded that phones should be turned off before an examination. If a phone makes a noise during the examination, this is considered a breach of the rules and could affect your son’s overall grade.

If your son is unwell on the day of the examination, please contact Mr Bundle gbundle@nbhs.school.nz  to request a derived grade form.

Tertiary Study in 2024

If your son is moving on to tertiary study in 2024, they should check their eligibility for fees-free study. They can do this here: www.feesfree.govt.nz

Applying for student loans and allowances needs to be done before 16 December. Enrolment is via Study Link  www.studylink.govt.nz

Women Raising Boys Hui

The Parent League invite all women raising boys in our school community to an information evening related to ‘teenagers and drugs’. The evening is being presented by Kate Davis, Public Health Nurse.

The hui is Tuesday, 21 November, starting at 6:00pm in the NBHS Memorial Library.
