Hostel Promotion Tour

The Scinde House information evenings begin in Week 7. The information evening is a chance for prospective and interested families to learn more about boarding and the school. Please help us to promote the event in your area. Families can register their interest here: https://tinyurl.com/yywwlbpa

Y9 Breakfast

To all fathers/guardians/mentors of our Year 9 students. We invite you, the significant men in our Y9s lives, to the Year 9 ‘Boys Breakfast’. This is held onsite Friday, 26 March 7:00 – 8:15am.

The aim of the breakfast is to continue the momentum gained from the Y9 Ladder to Manhood programme. All attendees will leave the ‘Boys Breakfast’ with ideas how to effectively support and communicate with their teenage son.

Breakfast is subsidised. For $10 you receive breakfast for two. Hostel parents can charge this to their son’s account.

Early next week a link will be sent by text message. The link will direct you to a booking form. The booking form includes details about the breakfast, how to confirm your attendance and your method of payment.

Bookings are limited to the first 125 boys.

L2 Geography Tongiriro Crossing

The optional Y12 Geography fieldtrip to the Tongariro Volcanic Centre runs Monday 15 – Wednesday 17, March. The teacher responsible is Mr A Johnson ajohnson@nbhs.school.nz

Dairy Future Day Out

A group of Y10 Agriculture students will attend the Dairy Future Day Out on Wednesday, 17 March. The event showcases career opportunities across dairy farming and the wider agricultural sector. The teacher responsible is Mr R Newman rnewman@nbhs.school.nz

Sport

Central Districts Final Series, Gillette Cup

The 1st XI cricket team play in the Central Districts final series of the Gillette Cup Monday 15 – Tuesday, 16 March. The winner goes onto the national finals held in Term 4. You can follow the action live here: https://www.crichq.com/manage/fixtures/1091710/scorecards

Junior Futsal

The Junior Futsal team will play in the Hawke’s Bay Junior Tournament, held at Pettigrew Green Arena, on Tuesday, 16 June.

East Coast North Island Athletics

Our premier athletes are competing at the East Coast North Island Athletics Championships on Wednesday, 17 March. The meet is at the William Nelson Athletics precinct, Hastings Sports Park.

Colts Cricket

The Colts Cricket XI will play against Whanganui Collegiate School on Wednesday, 17 March. This is a home fixture.

Canoe Polo

The canoe polo team will compete in the National Canoe Polo Championship Friday 19 – Sunday, 21 March.

Sports Draws

Winter Sport Registration

Y10-13 winter sport registrations were distributed this week. Payment and documents need to be returned by Friday 19 March to the registration box in the main office.
