Junior Prizegiving

Our final celebration of the school year, the Junior Prizegiving, is Friday, 10 December. This is a closed event, limited to students and staff.

We will have a late start on this day. Y9 and Y10 students will meet in the quad at 9:00 am then go to their Period 1 class at 9.30 am. Students will be dismissed following the prizegiving. Buses will depart at 12:00pm.

The Junior Prizegiving will commence at 10:00 am. This event will be live-streamed on the school’s YouTube channel. We encourage you to subscribe here: https://www.youtube.com/c/NapierBoysHighSchool/featured

COVID-19 Protection Framework (CPF)

As outlined above, we will live-stream the Junior Prizegiving with staff and students in attendance, only.

As you are aware we have moved to the ‘traffic light system’, or CPF. With this, there are implications and some complexities, as per the information below related to school sport in 2022.

Currently, Hawke’s Bay is in ‘orange’. However, this could change before the 2022 school year. In late January we will confirm our status, and any changes in expectation/procedure, in advance of your son returning to school in 2022.

Government advice and expectations, tagged ‘life at Orange’, can be accessed here: https://covid19.govt.nz/traffic-lights/life-at-orange/gatherings-and-visits-at-orange/

Start of Year, 2022

The School Sport NZ Board have mandated that all School Sport NZ sanctioned events in Term 1, 2022 – including the summer holidays – will be restricted to fully vaccinated participants, aged 12 and over, only.

This means that all school sport will be restricted to students with Covid Vaccine Passes.
