Boys’ Breakfast

This event is for the significant men in our Year Nines’ lives – fathers / guardians / mentors. The Boys’ Breakfast is held onsite Friday, 28 March 7:00 – 8:15am. The aim of the breakfast is to continue the momentum gained from the Y9 Ladder to Manhood programme. All attendees will leave with ideas related to supporting and communicating with their teenage son.

Breakfast is subsidised. For $20 you receive breakfast for two.

This event sells out fast! There is a limited number of places available.

Registration is via Schoolbridge, selecting ‘permission slips’. Registration opens at 4:00pm on Monday 24 March.

Year 10 and 11 NCEA Information Night

A reminder to parents / whānau of Y10 and Y11 students that the highly informative NCEA Information Night is on Thursday 27 March, starting at 7:00pm in the Henderson Hall. The session includes information on how your son will gain NCEA qualifications, the Common Assessment Activities for Literacy and Numeracy, and how you are able to support your son at home through his NCEA journey.

We look forward to hosting this event for those who can attend. There will also be a recording of the evening posted on the school’s website.

Mountain Bike Team Movie Fundraiser – 27 March, Bridget Jones

The Napier Boys’ High School (NBHS) Mountain Biking Team is actively fundraising to support their participation in local and national Mountain Biking events. The team has performed well at previous mountain biking events and is looking to build on its performance. Your support is essential for the team’s participation in upcoming competitions, particularly the North Island Secondary School MTB Champs, scheduled for April 12-14, 2025, and the National Champs later in the year.

Malaysia Hockey Trip: Silent Auction

Auction is underway for the NBHS Hockey trip to Malaysia. It is open to everyone… you don’t need to be attending the Quiz Night to participate.

There are some outstanding things up for grabs, and it’s definitely worth taking a look at via the link below, and worth chucking a bid on some things as you may very well walk away with the item for an absolute bargain.

NCEA Authenticity Forms

Senior students and Y10 Accelerates have been emailed a link to their NCEA Authenticity form. This is sent to their school email account. Please check that your son has completed this form.

All students undertaking NZQA Standards in 2025 must complete this form.

Careers

Y13s that are considering studying at a university in 2026 are invited to attend the related university presentations.

If your son is in Y13 they are encouraged to make an appointment with the Career Department. The Careers Department can provide support and guidance related to tertiary study, apprenticeships and employment opportunities. They can also assist with CV writing.
