Women Raising Boys Hui
The Parent League invite all women raising boys in our school community to an informative evening based on Celia Lashlie’s book, “He’ll be OK”. The event is not for children or students. This is an opportunity to brainstorm, problem-solve and network. Refreshments and a light supper will be served. The hui is Tuesday, 29 June, 6:30 – 8:30pm in the NBHS Memorial Library.

Y10 Accelerate Quiz Night
A group of Y10 Accelerate students, under the charge of Academic Prefect Ben Shirley, will join with students from Napier Girls’ High School for a quiz night on Wednesday, 30 June. This event runs 4:00 – 6:00pm onsite in the Henderson Hall.

Communication & Contact Details
It is critical that parents / caregivers notify the school of changes to their contact details – physical address, email, and phone. Changes should be updated with the school office by emailing Mrs J Gourdie jgourdie@nbhs.school.nz
In the case of an emergency or for urgent updates we may use a text messaging / SMS service. Increasingly we use the School App to push out updates. This is useful for parents / caregivers and students. Download ‘SchoolAppsNZ’ and select Napier Boys’ High School. It is important that the email address you provide is an account that you check daily.
Parent/Caregiver Teacher Interviews
Parent/caregiver teacher interviews are in Week 10. Meetings are 5 minutes in duration. Students are welcome to attend alongside their parent/caregiver.
An email, with booking details, has been sent to all parents/caregivers.

Goal-Setting Update
Tutor teachers are now contacting Y9 & 10 students’ parents/caregivers to update them on their son’s progress toward the goals that they collectively set in Term One. Contact may be by phone or email.

Debating is on-a-roll this term with a high level of activity and success.
Y9 Debating
We have two Y9 debating teams. Ms Collins team head across to Hastings Christian School on Wednesday, 30 June. The prepared moot is, ‘whether or not libraries are outdated’.
Y11 Debating
The Y11 debating team head to Woodford House on Wednesday, 30 June taking on Lindisfarne College. The prepared moot is, ‘schools should impose a dress code for students, including hair and jewellery’.

Polson Banner Exchange – Hockey & Basketball
The traditional Polson Banner exchange is Wednesday, 04 August. This date clashes with the Super 8 Schools Group tournaments for hockey and basketball. Consequently, the 1st XI hockey, Senior A White & Blue and Junior A basketball teams will travel to Palmerston North on Thursday, 01 July.
My Action Replay Clubs
Old boy and ex-Head Prefect Scinde House, Erin Walshe, from My Action Replay Clubs, has gifted the school a streaming unit for Term 3. A non-subscription provider, the streaming service is aimed at community sport.

Super 8 Schools Rugby
The 1st & 2nd XV host Hamilton Boys’ High School on Saturday, 03 July. Updates are posted on the Tribe Sports App. If you can’t make it down to the ground you can watch the action live online by subscribe to the streaming service, Sideline.Live.
Sideline.Live
Sideline.Live has been streaming Super 8 Schools rugby for several years. They have expanded their coverage to include the Super 8 Schools tournaments for other codes. This year they will be streaming hockey, basketball, and football. This is a subscription service.
